Local Outreach
Part of living as though Jesus were living through us is to place the needs of our community over our own. Our service should be so relevant and tangible that if Harvest Church ceased to exist the most ardent critic of Christianity would be bummed. This is a great summation of what it means to reach out and serve one another.
There are lots of opportunities at each campus already available and waiting for people just like you! Select a campus below to learn more about current local outreach opportunities in that community. Once you find your fit, use the registration button and jump in!
Heights Campus:
Car Care: In Matthew 25:25-40, Jesus gave us a command to meet people's needs. By God's grace we are helping fulfill the local portion of the Great Commission by serving our community and the surrounding area. The Harvest Car Care Ministry exists to do just that. We do this in a few ways: First, we provide repairs to people who would otherwise not be able to afford to get their cars repaired, if they are able to afford just the cost of the needed parts, we repair the vehicle with no cost for labor. Second, we donate cars to people who need, but cannot afford a vehicle. Again, we ask for the repair car parts to be paid by the recipient. Car Care volunteers also get to serve and be blessed by donating their time, talents, resources and cars to be used in this ministry. It feels great to bless someone with what God has blessed us with. Also, car donors are able to receive a tax benefit from the IRS.
Care Team: The Care Team provides meals to Harvest families when the primary care giver is affected during times of hospitalization, injury, illness, child birth, etc. Team members deliver a hot main dish and two side dishes in disposable containers during these times of transition. Team members typically serve once a month. If you enjoy cooking and are looking for a way to serve, please fill out the form below and we'll contact you right away.
EMT: Evangelism Mobilization Team: One of the way we reach out to the homeless in the Billings area is with our EMT truck. We have converted a Snap-On Tool truck and drive the streets of Billings, two times each week, looking for those who are in need; offering up food, prayer, relationship, blankets, coffee, bibles, hygiene kits ("Action Paks"). You can help by signing up to be a crew member or by donating Cup O' Soup, bottled water, white crew socks, gently used blankets ,etc. For more info contact Suzanne Moran at 406.259.5648 or
TLC Team: The TLC Team serve families in times of loss by providing desserts and snacks during a reception after funeral services. There are several ways to serve on the TLC Team. Donating food, such as chips, rolls, cakes or brownies or by serving families and their guests during the reception. Please fill out the form below to join the team or for more information.
Washington Court: Several years ago Harvest Church adopted a small community on the south side of Billings by the name of Washington Court. Every last Saturday of the month we serve this community in a variety of ways including: construction, clean-up, maintenance, and being the tangible hands and feet of Jesus. This is a fantastic ministry that is bearing much fruit. If you'd like to join the effort please fill out the form below.
Moving Crew: Equipped with a 14-foot box truck, we are volunteers (strong and able-bodied) who can join others in moving those in need, but not able to afford it, from Point A to Point B within this Billings area. Our main purpose is to show Christ through our actions to others, with no strings attached. This opportunity requires a commitment of 1-2 days per month, usually on a Saturday morning.
Benevolence Ministry:Helping those in need requires the gifts of grace, mercy and understanding. As people apply for assistance through our Benevolence Ministry, we are in need of those people who can exhibit these gifts. They will need to have the time to participate on a committee that meets monthly to review applications, determine priority of those in need, while remaining good stewards of the resources God's provides to Harvest Church. For additional info contact
Harvest Home Helpers: This ministry helps those who are in need for small home repairs, inside/outside, (not home remodeling) with no ability to pay a handyman, but are able to afford the cost of supplies/materials. This may include repairing small leaks, light painting, repairing skirting on a mobile home, etc. Skills required mostly center around the desire to help others and to be able to follow a leader's direction. For additional info, contact Jerome @ 406.861.1895 or
Faith Community Nursing: Our Faith Community Nurse works at Harvest Church to serve the needs of the congregational members and others as they deal with health, life and medical challenges.
