Our DNA
What is it that makes Harvest the way it is? Primarily, it’s people. People that have jumped in with both feet and are committed to living a certain way. We’re on a mission. We’ve got a strategy. We’re driven by certain values. And we’ve defined with success looks like. All of these things, when they’re woven together, make up the DNA of Harvest.
Mission
Living life as though Jesus were living through you. What would your life look like if Jesus were living through you? That’s what we believe every one of us is called to. It’s a Life based on a mission of hope, forgiveness, and impact. We call it living the Life.
Strategy
Have you ever been at an airport or mall and found the map with the “you are here” locator? A map is only as good as our ability to know where we are and where we want to go.
We have a clearly defined map or strategy of how we accomplish living Life as though Jesus were living through us.
Worship God
For most, weekend worship services are the first step in connecting with Harvest Church. In this environment we gather together with one another to Worship God.
Your Next Step from the Worship God environment is to Grow Up! Start by attending one of the regularly offered Connections Classes. Sign up here or fill out an Info Card in the Worship Environments at each campus.
Grow Up
It’s ok to not be ok, but it’s not ok to stay that way. At Harvest Church growth is expected of one another. There are learning and serving opportunities to get involved in at each campus to take advantage of to help you life a life of impact. Ultimately, we believe that life is better in community and want everyone to be involved in a Small Group.
Learn more about Small Groups in the Connections Class, start your own and let us know, or visit the Small Groups page for more information.
Reach Out
To be so relevant and tangible in our service that if Harvest Church ceased to exist the most ardent critic of Christianity would be bummed. This is a great summation of what it means to reach out and serve one another. Whether in your own backyard, community wide events or even local missions, reach out and make a difference!
Values
Values shape us. They help define who we are and how we make decisions. Most of all, they describe the kind of church we strive to be.
Word Centered
We believe the Bible is the actual Word of God and is the authority for how Life works. While the methods of how we apply the truths of scripture may vary, the theology and belief of the Bible’s authenticity and authority shape us. It’s a personal love letter from God to each of us.
Community Focused
Jesus didn’t come to be served, but to serve. Part of living as though He were living through us is to place the needs of our community over our own. Our service should be relevant and tangible, making a real difference.
Growth Expected
We aren’t here to sit around. We’re here to seek God, learn more about Him and His plan for us, and grow more and more in our relationship with Him. When you call Harvest home, there’s an expectation that you will grow and change— both individually and in community.
Fun Required
We’re called to live the Life Jesus describes as “life to the fullest” (John 10:10). When you’re living life to the fullest, shouldn’t—for the most part—that be fun?! Life together is a blast! Having fun isn’t just recommended, it’s required!
Mission Measures
What does it look like when we live out our mission? When can you tell that someone is actually living Life as though Jesus were living through them? These people have an ever-increasing:
- Love of God
- Love of Others
- Love of Life
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? We think so, too. That’s the life God has called us to.
