Growth Expected
November 20-21, 2010
Friends, Last weekend (November 20-21), at the beginning of the sermon, I noted that this might be the most important sermon I preach all year. Turns out it was one of the most significant worship services in the history of our church. Ironically it snowed, and about half our church missed it. I received an email on Monday that read:
“I'm normally a woman of lots of words, but today, just a few! I have never, in my life, been so moved and filled with the Holy Spirit, than from this past weekend’s sermon, it was truly amazing!!! It rocked me to my core!”
The truth is the sermon wasn’t all that great, but during a time of prayer and “surrender” the Holy Spirit moved across our congregation in such a powerful way that nobody was left unaffected. I am so curious and excited to see how the courageous decisions of hundreds will impact our church and our communities in the days ahead. The pastoral staff has determined that it might be a good idea to send the link to video or audio of the sermon. Perhaps God might move you also to a place of unconditional surrender to His authority and leadership in your life. Let us know how it goes.
